While I was still student at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, I came across the music Brazilian composer, singer and guitar player Guinga. My entire perception of Brazilian music changed that day, and I feel that listening to his music uncovered a bottomless well of inspiration.
It’s hard to pick one record but I settled on his 2007 release “Casa de Villa”, as perhaps an album that gives an introductory taster of his multifaceted genius.
