Every post I read from you gets me more and more excited about my upcoming trip! Now I have the food AND the coffee to look forward to! Oh, and the ramen as well.

How fun to be able to "pick up on" your excitement and honest enthusiasm and joy for this very special visit! I LOVE that vibe ~I love traveling myself, but could never do what you professional musicians do: Road Warriors. I'm so happy that YOU are happy.

so glad you got to go and be excited! Living vicariously through your adventures, but man I would have loved to hear you at the Blue Note Tokyo. Smelling the coffee: there used to be a truly great specialty food store in Chapel Hill, that actually started out by importing coffees. Smelling the beans was always a thing, whether they were in big burlap sacks, or shiny glass jars. In the store after it got big, there were probably 3 dozen coffees at one point, and even though the whole place smelled of coffee, you could lift a lid and get an intense experience of the specific bean/roast. One can learn so much. I stumbled in to a similar set-up on a small scale in a tiny coffee shop in Tucson.

Never been in a coffee shop that has beans available for olfactory sampling. I want that!
