Francesco, I have the same habits. I actually have an iPod from 2008 with about 20,000 tunes in it, and I leave it on shuffle when I go for long drives. As a matter of principle, I despise Spotify, so I do not use it (even though my music happens to be in it - not by my choice). As far as copyright issues when sharing the music, I do that in my Zoom online classes, instead of podcasts. It works. Grazie!
Yes! I still have my old 200GB iPod and the battery life is really short but I keep it docked on a Bose speaker in Italy and enjoy it so much whenever I’m there. I’m totally with you on feelings about Spotify but it’s the only way I have figured how to do this for now. Good tip on the live zooms, I must try doing some of that, but obviously a very different setup.
Aloha Francesco, I'm an old f@rt and still not into the spotify thing. I still use an Mp3 player in my home, car and work. Just want to drop a mention for 2 female bands that I support. Grammy winners, Larkin Poe you may be familiar with because Rhiannon has worked with them. The Lovell sisters' genre is roots blues southern rock. The other band is from Mexico, The Warning, three sisters Villarreal have been a band for 10 years and yet the eldest is only 24! They are a hard rock power trio with compelling riffs and hooks, plus thought provoking lyrics spanning all topics of the human condition. And harmonies not frequently seen in the Rock genre. Salud!
The embedded link didn't work at all but no problem once I went to Spotify. Very much enjoyed the format but would enjoy hearing the full track of each song. I know that would make the segment much longer, though. Thank you for sharing your "thoughts, impressions and facts' with us!
Yes unfortunately as I was saying the full tracks are there, but only if you have a Spotify subscription…😒. If not you only get a preview, which makes little sense.
I wish it could be done differently but this kind of home made podcast with songs is a thing that only Spotify offers
Hi! The embedded link seems to only play a small preview (spoken word only) but the full version on Spotify works a treat! What an interesting and eclectic music collection!
Yes that’s what it looked like for me too…I don’t get it, these Spotify embeds never work properly on substack, I might have to just post the link from now on…
I had a group on Facebook called shuffle and it was like this, we would shuffle and list the first ten songs. I first saw this idea in the Pearl Jam forums when the IPod was released. So I like this idea
Thank you for this unexpected gift. It is a delicious treat!

It works fine for me on my phone, voice and full tracks. But when it plays on my Marantz I only get voice 🤔
I love the format and look forward to the sometimes schizophrenic journey. Always looking for interesting new sounds.

Mind you, they look rather nice, those embeds!
